Ideal Dance Studio and Modes of Thinking

My Ideal Dance Studio and Modes of Thinking

Two modes of thinking:

1. Convergent: emphasizes logic, direct approach that isn't creative, common in standardized testing

2. Divergent: multiple ways to solve a problem, creative thinking, focuses on innovation and out of the box thinking

You need both of these types of thinking in order to create something that is thoughtful and well-planned out.

Dopamine:

- a neurotransmitter involved with motivation and motor functions

- drives us to seek out things that make us feel good

My ideal dance studio environment: I would want marley floors in my studio so that the students can move smoothly without the floor being too slippery. Additionally, marley is the safest floor to dance on and can prevent any further injuries from occuring. In the studio, I would want the lights to be on so that students can feel more awake and lively and see one another. I want the environment to be inclusive and safe for all students so that they will feel accepted, wanted, and acknowledged in the classroom. I want to give equal attention to all students and get to form valuable relationships with them.  I want to have multiple dance studios so that dancers can have exposure to all different styles of dance.
