What is the difference between teaching, coaching, and mentoring

Teaching: knowledge and skills

Coaching:enhancing performance, improve specific skills or goals

Mentoring: personal growth

Why is it important to know the difference between these three types?

It is important to know the difference between the three types because it is important to know when and how to act as a mentor and teacher. Additionally, it is important to understand how to teach students in a way that is effective and will allow students to grow.

Activity:

Teaching: teaching the basic techniques and framework of each style of dance

Coaching: giving them corrections and fixing their alignment, demonstrating the actual styles of dance, and giving students constructive criticism and helping them improve their technique, and providing feedback and recommendations on students choreography

Mentoring: answering any questions students have in regards to dance and careers as a whole
