Teaching Philosophy Statement
Teaching Philosophy Statement
Finding a balance between task and relationship-oriented approaches is important because it is important to develop relationships with others while ensuring they are on task and fulfilling their responsibilities.
Social-emotional learning: students manage their own emotions, have empathy, solve problems, and maintain healthy relationships.
Social-emotional learning in our curriculum:
- we will randomize groups so that students can have the opportunity to work with others and create their own choreography
- mindful journals will allow students to be aware of their emotions at the beginning and end of class
The most important thing to a teaching philosophy statement: internal honesty, what is your identity as a teacher
Teaching Philosophy Examples: preparation for life, high expectations, student growth, each student is special in their own way
I believe that students can learn best in a way that allows them to express themselves and feel comfortable. I will enforce motivational learning and create a positive environment for students to be open and expressive. As a teacher, I want to enforce inclusivity and form relationships with all my students. I want to prepare my students for the real world by teaching students life lessons and morals as well as influencing students to develop a passion for dance and the performing arts. We want to encourage personal growth, creativity skills, and problem-solving skills. Students should leave this class feeling proud and accomplished with the effort and dedication they have put into it.
